Taking Breaks and Winding Down: An Introvert's Guide to Finding Balance ✨

Published about 1 year ago • 3 min read

Unlocking Your Inner Power

I hope this email finds you well. As an introverted (or ambiverted) leader or coach, it's likely that you're familiar with the pressure to constantly be productive, to always be "on," and to never take a break. In fact, our culture tends to reward and celebrate overworking, even though it's counterproductive and leads to burnout and stress.

That's why I wanted to take a moment to remind you about the importance of winding down, taking breaks, and resting. These practices are not only essential for our physical and mental health but also for our creativity, productivity, and overall well-being.

So, whether you're an introverted leader who feels guilty for taking breaks or a coach who struggles to find balance in your work, I hope you find this email helpful and inspiring.

ONE THING FOR YOU TO THINK ABOUT

Did you know that rest is not just the absence of work, but it's actually an active process that allows our bodies and minds to rejuvenate and recharge? In other words, rest is just as important as work, and it's essential for our health and wellbeing.

So, the next time you feel guilty for taking a break or winding down, remember that rest is not a luxury but a necessity.

Reflect: Share this thought with others and inspire them to embrace the not only the idea, but the necessity of rest.

THREE THINGS FOR YOU TO ASK YOURSELF

  1. When was the last time you took a break or a day off? How did it make you feel?
  2. Are you aware of your body's signals when it's time to rest? What are they?
  3. What's one small thing you can do this week to prioritize rest and self-care?

Recommended: Use these questions as journaling prompts for the week and watch your inner growth unfold.

ONE THING FOR YOU TO TRY THIS WEEK

This week, I invite you to take at least one intentional break each day. It could be a 5-minute meditation, a walk-in nature, or simply closing your eyes and taking a deep breath. Whatever it is, make sure it's something that allows you to disconnect from work and recharge your batteries.
